Thursday Night Opens Week 5: Buccaneers at Cowboys After Carolina's Sunday Night

October 07, 2026•7 min read

Thursday night opens Week 5 with a posted kickoff, not a final. Tampa Bay visits Dallas on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime. NFL Football Operations lists that game in the Week 5 block. The score is NOT FOUND. The clubs have not played.

The last closed game of Week 4 that this note will use is Sunday night in Charlotte. Carolina beat Detroit 32-26. That final is the anchor, and it is not an invitation to rebuild the entire Sunday list. Gameday Signal already has that board. A forecast is not data. A posted time is data. Week 5 is a list of clocks.

Tampa Bay arrives at 0-4 after a 14-17 home loss to Green Bay. Dallas arrives at 2-2 after a 34-30 win at Houston. Those two results explain who is on the Thursday card. They do not decide Thursday. Jalon Daniels was the Tampa Bay passer in the Sunday file. Baker Mayfield's availability for Thursday is NOT FOUND in this draft. Writing a starter who is not confirmed would invent a depth chart.

Sunday, Oct. 11, is the long window. Carolina is on a bye. Kansas City is on a bye. Neither name appears on the NFL operations list for that Sunday, which is the check. Carolina is 2-2 after the Charlotte final. Kansas City is 4-0 after a 30-27 win at Las Vegas. A bye is a blank on the schedule. It is not a result.

London is the early kickoff. Philadelphia and Jacksonville are at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 9:30 a.m. ET on NFL Network. NFL operations lists the matchup as Philadelphia against Jacksonville at Tottenham. The Eagles are 2-2 after a 20-24 home loss to the Rams. The Jaguars are 3-1 after a 22-17 win at Cincinnati. The London final is NOT FOUND.

The 1:00 p.m. ET group is seven games. Each one is a time and a network. None of them has a score.

Cincinnati visits Miami at 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX. The Bengals are 2-2 after the 17-22 home loss to Jacksonville. The Dolphins are 0-4 after a 10-15 loss at Minnesota. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

Las Vegas visits New England at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. The Raiders are 3-1 after a 27-30 home loss to Kansas City. The Patriots are 2-2 after a 29-26 win at Buffalo. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

Minnesota visits New Orleans at 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX. The Vikings are 4-0 after a 15-10 win against Miami. The Saints' record for this Sunday is NOT FOUND. Atlanta plays at New Orleans on Monday night, Oct. 5, and that final is not in this file. A Saints mark that includes Monday would be an invented number. The Sunday final in New Orleans is also NOT FOUND.

Cleveland visits the Jets at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. Cleveland is 3-1. New York is 1-3 after a 12-23 loss at Chicago. Thursday of Week 4 is already filed elsewhere and is not replayed here. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

Indianapolis visits Pittsburgh at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. The Colts are 2-2 after a 30-13 win against Washington in London. Pittsburgh is 2-2. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

Houston visits Tennessee at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. The Texans are 0-4 after a 30-34 home loss to Dallas. The Titans are 0-4 after an 18-24 loss at Baltimore. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

The Giants visit Washington at 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX. New York is 3-1 after a 36-24 win against Arizona. Washington is 1-3 after the London loss. One reporter note listed this game as Washington visiting New York. The NFL operations calendar says the Giants are the visitors. This file follows the league calendar. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

The later Sunday group changes networks and clocks. Denver visits the Chargers at 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS. Denver is 2-2 after a 14-24 loss at San Francisco. The Chargers are 0-4 after a 23-30 loss at Seattle. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

Detroit visits Arizona at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. The Lions are 2-2 after the 26-32 loss in Charlotte. Arizona is 1-3 after the 24-36 loss at the Giants. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

Chicago visits Green Bay at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. The Bears are 3-1 after the 23-12 win against the Jets. The Packers are 2-2 after the 17-14 win at Tampa Bay. A separate note had suggested a 1:00 p.m. ET start for this game. NFL operations lists 4:25 p.m. ET. This file uses 4:25. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

San Francisco visits Seattle at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. The 49ers are 4-0 after the 24-14 win against Denver. The Seahawks are 3-1 after the 30-23 win against the Chargers. Sunday's final is NOT FOUND.

Sunday night is Baltimore at Atlanta at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC. NFL operations marks that window with an asterisk on the network cell and still lists 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC. The plan file uses the same clock. Baltimore is 3-1 after the 24-18 win against Tennessee. Atlanta's record for Sunday night is NOT FOUND because Monday's game in New Orleans has no final in this draft. Lamar Jackson left the Week 4 game with an ankle injury and did not play the second half. His status for the Atlanta trip is NOT FOUND. Sunday night's score is NOT FOUND.

Monday, Oct. 12, is the Week 5 game after the Sunday window. Buffalo visits the Rams at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC. Buffalo is 3-1 after the home loss to New England. The Rams are 2-2 after the win at Philadelphia. That Monday final is NOT FOUND. The date also sits outside the Oct. 5 to Oct. 11 content week, so it is here only as the next posted kickoff on the league calendar.

A reader who wants a result from this note will not find one past Charlotte. Carolina 32, Detroit 26 is the closed Sunday night game. Every Week 5 entry above is a place and a time. Dallas on Thursday is the home club on the league list. This note does not add a building name the operations calendar did not print. The operations sheet tags that kickoff AMZ. The weekly plan names the same 8:15 p.m. ET window as Prime. Both labels point at one posted start. Neither label is a score.

The same rule applies to injuries that are still open. Daniels' Sunday passing count is not a Thursday assignment. Jackson's second-half absence is not a Sunday night assignment. Mayfield's name is a question from the Sunday file, not an answer for Prime. If a club posts a starter later, that posting is new data. It is not something this page can backfill.

Gameday Signal tracks the week by the clock. Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET is the first Week 5 snap on the calendar. Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET in London is the first Sunday snap. The 1:00 p.m. ET group is the middle of the day. The 4:05 and 4:25 games are the late group. Baltimore at Atlanta is the night game at 8:20 p.m. ET. Two clubs, Carolina and Kansas City, do not have a snap. That is the whole board a fan can use without pretending a game has been played.

The count is checkable. Thursday is one game. Sunday is thirteen games. London is one of them. The 1:00 p.m. ET group is seven. The 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff is one. The 4:25 p.m. ET group is three. The 8:20 p.m. ET game is the last Sunday snap. Monday, Oct. 12, is one more posted kickoff. That is fifteen games. Fifteen games use thirty clubs. Carolina and Kansas City are the two clubs left off the list. Thirty plus two is the full league. If a later graphic adds a sixteenth game inside this week, it is not on the operations calendar used here.

Monday night of Week 4 is the hole in two Sunday records. Atlanta at New Orleans is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN on Oct. 5. Until that game is played, Atlanta's mark and New Orleans' mark cannot be updated. Minnesota's trip to New Orleans still has a kickoff. Baltimore's trip to Atlanta still has a kickoff. The visitors can be described from Sunday's finals. The home clubs cannot. That is why those two home records say NOT FOUND while every other Week 5 club on this page carries a Week 4 mark.

Film from Charlotte can tell a reader how Carolina closed Week 4. It cannot tell a reader who wins in Dallas. The signal is the posted list. The noise is a Week 5 winner written on Wednesday.
